Rodrigo Ventura<\/strong> (PhD) is a tenured Associate Professor<\/strong> of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico<\/a> (IST), University of Lisbon, and a senior researcher of the Institute for Systems and Robotics<\/a> (ISR-Lisbon), part of the Laboratory of Robotics and Engineering Systems<\/a> (LARSyS), where he coordinates the Space and Aeronautics thematic line<\/strong>. He is the coordinator of the Minor in Space Sciences and Technologies<\/a><\/strong> at IST, and the coordinator of the MBE on Space Systems<\/strong> for Tecnico+<\/a>. He is Adjoint Faculty<\/strong> of the International Space University<\/a> (ISU) global faculty, collaborating regularly with ISU in various academic activities. Broadly, his research is focused on the intersection between Robotics<\/strong> and Artificial Intelligence<\/strong>, with particular interest in human-robot interaction, mobile manipulation, biologically inspired cognitive architectures, and machine learning. This research is driven primarily by space robotics<\/strong>, including both orbital and planetary environments, having resulted in robotic experiments on the International Space Station (ISS) and in the participation on various analog space exploration missions.<\/p>\n
